Talk about a SOULFUL night! Our recent show at Guero’s Oak Garden was an all around good time. The event was a picture-perfect end of summer concert. The outdoor venue was the personification of an Austin setting, a beautiful combination of eccentric and rustic!
We would like to thank Texas Radio Live, and Sun Radio for putting on the show and bringing us together to share a stage with Jordan Cody, a local country rock musician who delivered a heartfelt performance. Her strong melodious vocals filled the venue and had everyone in the audience tapping their toes!
Many towns in Texas were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, including Andra’s home town of Victoria, TX. As a nod to first responders and the everyday heroes who helped in Hurricane Harvey search and rescue efforts, we played “Somewhere to Go.” We wanted to contribute to the effort to help these communities rebuild after the devastation, so we collected donations at the show in The Mrs truck to deliver to those folks and help alleviate some of the difficulties they are going through. Big help starts with small help, and when we come together to help as a community, we show the world what a little music can do. Thank you to every person who stepped up to help by bringing donations, everything counts!
Getting to play a live show, not only for an audience, but also live on the radio was a special experience. The show at Guero’s was all around about the love of music! We were not only able to play our music, but tell the stories of our songs along the way, taking both the radio listeners and fans at the show on a journey with us. David Arnsberger, the Texas Radio Live host, chatted with us like an old friend. His deep voice was projecting through the bustle and excited chatters from the crowd with questions in between each song.
The night was really in full swing when the dancing began and the party got started! There were some really great moves out on the floor -we didn’t want to stop jamming and it was so rockin’ we almost forgot it was Wednesday night! It was so fabulous to see some familiar faces in the crowd, like Johnny Goudie, the host of a fun musician podcast “How did I get here?”! Johnny wasn’t the only local musician in attendance, Scott Collins was there cutting some moves on the dance floor! He also was also sporting an “I listen to The Mrs” shirt, which looked so swank on him! Thank you everyone for your continued support, we couldn’t have asked for better fans!
