The world needs kindness now more than ever, and we love to help spread the message with The Kindness Campaign (TKC) anytime there’s a chance to. We recently participated in three events organized by The Kindness Campaign, and we are still feeling the magic of kindness from each of them.
TKC pulled out all of the stops for their Taste of Kindness fundraiser. The night was hosted at John Thorton and Erin Driscoll’s breathtaking home in Austin, TX. Warmth and kindness radiated in the air as we enjoyed all the special treats provided by their sponsors, from yummy Sprinkles Cupcakes to refreshing Sway Water and Austin Cocktails drinks! Our favorite moment of the night was playing our song “This is Not a Lullaby” with a perfect accompanying harmony from the children’s choir. It was an honor to be playing for so many kind and philanthropic-minded people in the Austin community. After our set, we were able to enjoy the festivities and a fantastic performance from The Wind and The Wave. Dwight Baker and Patty Lynn are a talented duo who put on a spectacular show that really rounded out a perfect night of food, music, and fundraising!
Just two days later was The Kindness Campaign’s first community KINDNESSPALOOZA! The festival was sponsored and hosted by Round Rock Toyota. They cleared the side lot and we brought the big stage for a bold lineup. We kicked off the music after the first of two proprietary puppet shows from ZACH Theatre, featuring TKC’s own Enoughie Buddy! We were joined on stage by SaulPaul, Courtney Santana Music, Midnight Butterfly, Haley Betron, and Toyota’s own Jeff Miller & Rachel Ramirez. The tunes had us pumped to enjoy the sunshine and smiling faces, we even jumped in for dances with Enoughie Buddy and SaulPaul! TKC events always leave us feeling vibrant with our hearts warmed by their dedication to kindness, we couldn’t wait for the next event!
The week following KINDNESSPALOOZA, we joined The Kindness Campaign and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation (BTWF) at AISD’s own Cunningham Elementary School for a day of kindness. The two organizations joined forces to put on a day the students will never forget! There were kindness art and music programs happening throughout the day, and TKC brought Enoughie’s Magic Mirror experience, the #ArtofKindness photo booth, and put on an assembly for the whole school! Andra and BTWF spoke to the school about kindness, and we closed the day by asking the kids to join us in singing “Enough!” It was an honor joining BTWF, and Lady Gaga’s mother, Cynthia Germanotta (co-founder of BTWF) to help TKC spread kindness. The Born This Way team is genuinely caring people with who radiate true kindness; we were lucky to spend the day with them and the wonderful children of Cunningham Elementary!
